My Perfect Day
This is the final instalment of my three-part series titled — A Life By Design. In part one of this series, I shared the turning point when I realised that I was living a life designed by others. In part two, I shared the questions that I asked myself to help me design my ideal life. If you’ve already read those, here’s what I did next … Once I had outlined the goals I wanted to achieve, and the type of life I wanted to live it was important for me to then break these down into smaller tasks that I could achieve each day. From there I then needed to outline a daily routine that would suit my lifestyle, maximise my happiness and help me achieve the goals that I had set for myself. To give you an example, the following is my ideal day, and is already pretty close to how I spend my time …
Now, this specific routine isn’t one that I’ve always followed. In fact, when I was a bartender, for certain periods of time it wasn’t possible, especially when I had late night shifts. However, having a lifestyle where I was able to wake up early, work from home, and exercise throughout the day is something that I’ve long been aiming for. It was an intention that I set years ago and is now something that I’m incredibly thankful to experience. Yet, without taking the time to write out my ideal day, I wouldn’t have been able to make this my reality. Because if you don’t know what your ideal day looks like, how are you going to experience it consistently? For many, the idea of a routine seems rigid and boring, however, I urge you to rethink this and to instead craft a routine that suits you, your personality and your lifestyle. In doing so, you may very well find that routines can be remarkably enjoyable, and when they are they’re also far easier for you to maintain. Plus, over time those daily actions of staying consistent, of enjoying the routine that you’ve set for yourself, and of executing on your daily tasks will all stack up. When it does, you may very well find yourself waking up and realising that the life you had once dreamed of is now a normal part of your reality. Love, Tahlia X
